Thrift Scores

I’m not a huge shopper of clothes really, but I love me some decorations, knick knacks, books and cameras. Mainly vintage or thrifted!

Sadly, I’m not awesome at thrifting(yet). My house is not filled with wonderful vintage, antique and thrift finds like some *lovely*ladies. Someday, it might be. But for now, I just enjoy thrifting and going to antique stores and finding pretty things every once in a while.

I don’t think Scott likes it all that much, but he’s willing to take me as often as I want. (plus, it’s great to have someone there to hold onto the things I’ve found while I hunt for more!)
So every once in a while I’ll be doing a post about all the pretty and fun things I find while thrifting (or at antique store, or online.)

To start off, here are some of the things I’ve scored so far that I love!

Over a year ago, I was pinning over this beautiful serving dish on etsy. So when I happened upon the exact same one at Goodwill a few months ago, I had to have it! Mine needs a little cleaning and repairing but I think it’s just oh so pretty.
(also, if you didn’t know…I’m quite obsessed with butterflies.)

Not all of the cameras pictured below were found at a thrift store! But this is the best picture I had so here it is. Numbers 1, 2, 6, 7 and 8 were all found at antique stores and goodwill. I think I’ve picked up a few others since this picture but hunting for cameras is my favorite thing to do at the thrift store/antique store. I have a major obsession with cameras and am trying to build up my collection.

I think this is my favorite find to date. My very first Pyrex! I’ve been searching for some beautiful vintage Pyrex for ages and ages. I love this one!

A few other things we’ve bought:
-Puzzles. We love doing puzzles and it’s great to get them for so cheap!
-VHS movies from the thrift store! I love old, classic Disney movies and we still have 2 functioning VCR’s so why not?!
-Yule Decorations. We didn’t decorate too heavily this year, but most of what we decorated with came from the thrift store!
-Ugly cute sweaters! I saw one that was super cute, had two teddy bears playing in the snow. Stupidly, I passed it up! But I’ve bought 2 others from the thrift store and will get more next year for sure!
-Original versions of: The Game of Life, Guess Who? and Uno.

I know a lot of people out there think thrifting can be icky…and it can be! I always keep some wet wipes in the car so I can wash my hands after, but it is so great to get things to decorate with, games our future kids can play with, original and classic movies and cameras for so cheap at the thrift store or antique store. I recommend everyone try it at least a few times before saying no!
